Terms and Conditions

Last updated: August 2, 2026

1. What HostInTenerife is

HostInTenerife.com ("the Platform", "we") is an online marketplace connecting owners/managers of vacation properties in Tenerife ("Hosts") with people who want to book a stay ("Guests"). The Platform facilitates listing, booking, and payment processing, but is not a party to the accommodation contract formed between Guest and Host — that contract is formed directly between the two upon booking confirmation.

2. User account

An account is required to book or to list a property, authenticated by email (access link) or through a third-party provider (Google, Facebook). You are responsible for keeping your account details accurate and for keeping access to your associated email address confidential.

3. Bookings and payments

Payment is processed in full via Stripe at the time of booking. The displayed price is the final price, with no hidden extra costs at payment time. The Platform retains a commission from the amount charged, and the remainder is transferred to the Host via their Stripe Connect account. Booking confirmation happens automatically, immediately after payment is successfully processed.

4. Guaranteed minimum price rule

The Platform requires Hosts to price their listing on HostInTenerife at least 10% below the total price a guest would pay for the same property and dates on other booking platforms (or, for properties not listed elsewhere, below an estimated market price). This rule is a declaration made by the Host at listing time, and may be reviewed by the Platform.

5. Cancellations and refunds

Cancellation and refund terms are described separately in our Cancellation and Refund Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.

6. Host obligations

The Host guarantees that they hold a valid tourist accommodation license (VV) for the listed property, that the information presented (price, amenities, capacity, location) is accurate, and that they keep the availability calendar up to date to avoid double bookings.

7. Limitation of liability

The Platform acts as a technical intermediary. We are not liable for the actual quality of the accommodation, the conduct of the parties, or any disputes arising during the stay, but we make reasonable efforts to mediate any reported issue.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the applicable law of Spain / the European Union, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer rights of the Guest's country of residence.

This text is for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. We recommend review by a lawyer specialized in consumer and tourism law before full commercial launch.
